Dr. Dirk van der Meer received a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biochemistry from the University of British Columbia in 1988, and a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D.) degree from the University of British Columbia in 1992. Dr. van der Meer completed a Fellowship in Forensic Odontology at the Center for Education and Research in Forensics (CERF) at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio (UTHSCSA) in 2009, and completed a Masters of Science in Forensic Science at the University of Florida in 2016. Dr. van der Meer is a board certified forensic dentist with the American Board of Forensic Odontology (ABFO).
After graduating from dental school, Dr. van der Meer practiced in Prince George, British Columbia from 1992 to 1996. During this time he also practiced part time in Mackenzie and Quesnel. In 1996, Dr. van der Meer and his family moved to Armstrong and he has been practicing here ever since.
Dr. van der Meer and his wife, Jodi, have two daughters, Aleen and Chloe.
